Your Right to Reasonable Adjustments

Employers must make reasonable adjustments to make sure workers with disabilities, or physical or mental health conditions aren’t substantially disadvantaged when doing their jobs.

What do reasonable adjustments include?

Reasonable adjustments can include

  • Changing the recruitment process so candidates can be considered for a job
  • Doing things in another way, such as allowing someone with social anxiety disorder their own desk instead of hot-desking
  • Making physical changes to the work place e.g. installing a ramp for a wheelchair user
  • Changing equipment such as providing a special keyboard
  • Offering training opportunities
