The North Lincolnshire 0-19 (25 SEND) Health and Wellbeing Service
The North Lincolnshire 0-19 (25 SEND) Health and Wellbeing Service includes:
- Health visitors and school nurses lead a team of other practioners with a variety of skills, these include nursery nurses, family support workers and screening assistants
- School nurses
- Team of health professionals
working together to promote health for children, young people and their families.
We can support with health needs such as:
- Antenatal and new birth support
- Weaning, healthy eating and dental care
- Emotional health and wellbeing
- Advice around minor illnesses
- Child developmental milestones
- Transition into school
- Healthy weight and lifestyles
- Staying safe
- Support with smoking, drugs and alcohol
- Healthy and positive relationships
- Accident prevention
Health Visiting Service
In addition to the six core contacts which are offered to every family the service can offer further contacts to families whose children have emerging or identified additional needs. The service works in partnership with the Local Authority to help facilitate the decision making process in relation to children’s Education Health Care Plans. Talk to your health visitor about:
- Developing close and loving relationships with your baby and promote healthy relationships right from the start
- Responsive breast and bottle feeding
- Weaning, nutrition, diet and healthy lifestyles
- Parenting including sleep routines and behaviour
- Keeping babies and children safe
- Emotional health and wellbeing for parents and babies
- Monitoring and advice about child development
- Preparing your child for school
- Any other health related issues
School Nursing Service
We provide a confidential service to children and young people, and see children and young people in school and in the home.

Community services
North Lincolnshire NHS provide a range of services for children out in the community, including:

Hospital Services
The Disney ward at Scunthorpe Hospital provide care for babies, children and young people from birth to 16 year’s old, who require treatment for a range of general medicine conditions, diabetes and mental health.
They run clinics for a wide range of conditions and illnesses for children aged up to 16. These include allergy, ADHD, cardiology, cystic fibrosis, diabetes, gastroenterology, neurology, epilepsy, orthopaedics, audiology and renal.
