Local Offer

Brigg Sixth Form is a partnership between Sir John Nelthorpe School and the Vale Academy. We work together to provide a fully integrated and jointly resourced sixth form. We welcome applications from all pupils who attend other schools and academies.

Brigg Sixth Form provides for the individual needs of its students both academically and pastorally. It seeks to develop the existing partnerships between teachers, students and parents and strives to enable all students to achieve their aspirations. Effective monitoring and student mentoring allows staff and students to set challenging targets in their chosen areas of study.

This small and friendly sixth form offers a variety of quality courses and continues to seek to offer new subjects where appropriate in line with the ever-changing face of Post 16 provision. Students are the main focus for the provision and personalised learning pathways are promoted through the curriculum and further enrichment opportunities.

As part of our enrichment beyond the classroom, we continue to offer educational visits to field courses, workshops, theatre and cultural activities throughout the country, allowing students to broaden their experience and realise their potential. Our annual charity week continues to raise in excess of 1000 and we continue to support the Young Enterprise initiative thus maintaining a positive profile within the local community.

Through collaboration with universities and other providers, we inform students about possibilities in Higher Education and actively support them in the application process. We forge links with local employers and outside agencies so that students can make informed choices about options for the future.

We aim to prepare students for the progression beyond school and sixth form and to provide them with the qualifications and skills necessary to become purposeful, successful and fulfilled members of society.
