What is commissioning?

Effective commissioning in North Lincolnshire is about shaping place, creating and developing:

• the right support
• at the right time
• in the right place
• delivered by the right people

in response to the changing population and changing needs.

Commissioning is a continuous process that involves:

• understanding local needs and resources
• identifying where needs are not met by current services
• taking decisions about priorities
• ensuring the resources available are used in the best possible way

Services for children and young people with SEND are commissioned by North Lincolnshire Council and North Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).
